Clarity of Mind

प्रवृत्तिं च निवृत्तिं च कार्याकार्ये भयाभये। बन्धं मोक्षं च या वेत्ति बुद्धिः सा पार्थ सात्त्विकी॥

What does Bhagavad Gita 18.30 mean?

That intellect is in the mode of goodness which knows what should be done and what should not, what should be feared and what should not, and what is bondage and what is liberation.

How can I apply Gita 18.30 in daily life?

We often fear things that are not truly frightening. Right understanding frees us from that needless fear and helps us make clear decisions.

Krishna's teaching

Krishna explains to Arjuna that the intellect which gives us the right recognition of what should and should not be done, of what is rightly to be feared and what is not, and of what is bondage and what is the path to liberation, that alone is called an intellect in the mode of goodness. Such a pure and discerning intellect alone inspires a person to make the right decisions and perform virtuous action.

Affirmation

I continually pray to the Supreme for right understanding, discernment, and a mind established in goodness, so that I may make the right decisions between right and wrong in life and walk the path of righteousness.
