Accepting Transitions

देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा। तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति॥

What does Bhagavad Gita 2.13 mean?

Just as childhood, youth, and old age come to this body, so too does the soul acquire a new body after death. The wise are not disturbed by this.

How can I apply Gita 2.13 in daily life?

We often fear old age or any major change, but this verse reminds us that life is like a flowing river. Just as we grow up and leave childhood behind, the shedding of the body is also part of that growth. Taking this truth to heart is what frees us from deep sorrow.

Krishna's teaching

Krishna teaches Arjuna here that by understanding the change of the body and the eternal nature of the soul, one should not grieve excessively over death or change.

Affirmation

I accept life's changes with peace and understanding. I strive to recognize the eternal soul that dwells within me.
