Timeless Self
न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचि न्नायं भूत्वा भविता वा न भूयः। अजो नित्यः शाश्वतोऽयं पुराणो न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे॥
What does Bhagavad Gita 2.20 mean?
The soul is never born, nor does it ever die. It is unborn, eternal, everlasting, and ancient. It is not destroyed when the body is destroyed.
How can I apply Gita 2.20 in daily life?
Our existence never truly ends. What we call death is only the end of the outer garment. The divine light within you, the one that makes you alive, always was and always will be. Feeling this depth is what makes us fearless and self-assured.
Krishna's teaching
Krishna teaches that death belongs to the body, not to the soul. Therefore, one who understands the true nature of the soul can rise above the fear of death and excessive grief.
Affirmation
I recognize my eternal, unchanging self. I rise above the fear of change and death to understand the truth.
