Greed for More
इदमद्य मया लब्धमिमं प्राप्स्ये मनोरथम्। इदमस्तीदमपि मे भविष्यति पुनर्धनम्॥
What does Bhagavad Gita 16.13 mean?
The egotistic person thinks: 'Today I have gained this, now I shall fulfill this other desire. I have so much wealth, and there will be even more in the future.'
How can I apply Gita 16.13 in daily life?
We often lose 'today' because our mind stays busy counting tomorrow's earnings and expenses. This verse reminds us that merely accumulating wealth and possessions is not life. This hunger to 'acquire more' is never truly satisfied.
Krishna's teaching
Krishna shows that when we live in the greed of the future, we lose the peace of the present.
Affirmation
Letting go of the race for 'tomorrow,' I feel deep fulfillment in today's sacred moment.
