Delusion of Power
असौ मया हतः शत्रुर्हनिष्ये चापरानपि। ईश्वरोऽहमहं भोगी सिद्धोऽहं बलवान्सुखी॥
What does Bhagavad Gita 16.14 mean?
The egotistic person believes: 'I have destroyed that enemy, and I shall destroy others too. I am the lord, I am the enjoyer. I am powerful and happy.'
How can I apply Gita 16.14 in daily life?
When even a little power or success comes our way, we begin to think less of others. This verse warns us of the poison of that 'I,' which starts convincing us that we alone are the masters of this world.
Krishna's teaching
Krishna teaches that one who seeks happiness in defeating others has already been defeated by their own ego.
Affirmation
The physical strength, intellect, wealth, success, and every achievement of my life are the grace of the Supreme. So I do not carry pride over them, and I use my abilities and resources for the welfare of society and others.
