Focusing the Mind

यतो यतो निश्चरति मनश्चञ्चलमस्थिरम्। ततस्ततो नियम्यैतदात्मन्येव वशं नयेत्॥

What does Bhagavad Gita 6.26 mean?

Wherever the restless and unsteady mind wanders, one should draw it back from there and repeatedly bring it under the control of the self.

How can I apply Gita 6.26 in daily life?

Meditation or focus does not mean the mind will never wander. It means that whenever the mind does wander, you gently bring it back without getting discouraged. This patient practice is what calms the mind.

Krishna's teaching

Krishna teaches that mastering the mind is an ongoing process that requires patience.

Affirmation

Whenever my restless mind wanders, I notice it and calmly bring it back to my goal and to the present task.
