Path of Compassion
आत्मौपम्येन सर्वत्र समं पश्यति योऽर्जुन। सुखं वा यदि वा दुःखं स योगी परमो मतः॥
What does Bhagavad Gita 6.32 mean?
O Arjuna, the yogi who sees the pleasure and pain of others as equal to their own is considered the highest of all yogis.
How can I apply Gita 6.32 in daily life?
When we begin to feel the joy and sorrow of others as our own, true compassion awakens within us. We do not merely observe the suffering of others; we understand it and, according to our ability, try to help.
Krishna's teaching
Krishna teaches that the highest yogi is the one who sees the pleasure and pain of all beings as their own. True yoga practice is not limited to meditation or outer appearance; regarding another's sorrow as one's own and holding compassion and equanimity toward them is also the mark of a true yogi.
Affirmation
I see the presence of the Supreme everywhere. So, regarding the joy and sorrow of others as my own, I try to help and serve them according to my ability.
