Key to Success

श्री भगवानुवाच असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम्। अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते॥

What does Bhagavad Gita 6.35 mean?

O mighty-armed Arjuna, the mind is undoubtedly very restless and difficult to control; but O Arjuna, it can be mastered through practice and dispassion.

How can I apply Gita 6.35 in daily life?

Even God Himself acknowledges that mastering the mind is difficult. So if your mind wanders, do not be discouraged. Repeated effort (practice) and letting go of unnecessary desires (dispassion) are the two keys that unlock the mind.

Krishna's teaching

Krishna teaches that there are two main keys to mastering the mind: practice and dispassion. Making repeated effort to direct the mind in the right way is 'practice,' and letting go of unnecessary desires and attachment is 'dispassion.' Through the continued practice of both, the restless mind can be calmed and controlled.

Affirmation

Through steady practice, patience, and dispassion, I am working to keep my restless mind calm and disciplined. I repeatedly make the effort to bring my mind back in the right direction.
