Harmony with Mind
बन्धुरात्मात्मनस्तस्य येनात्मैवात्मना जितः। अनात्मनस्तु शत्रुत्वे वर्तेतात्मैव शत्रुवत्॥
What does Bhagavad Gita 6.6 mean?
For one who has conquered their mind, the mind itself is their best friend; but for one who has not mastered their mind, that very mind remains their greatest enemy.
How can I apply Gita 6.6 in daily life?
Our mind is like a small child, cooperative when settled, troublesome when agitated. When we guide it lovingly in the right direction instead of yielding to its stubbornness, that very mind becomes our greatest strength.
Krishna's teaching
Krishna teaches that the mind should not be suppressed, but gradually guided in the right direction through practice and restraint. When the mind comes under our control, it becomes our greatest ally in peace, sound decisions, and self-growth.
Affirmation
Through practice and restraint, I am mastering my mind. My mind is becoming my ally in good thinking, right decisions, and self-growth.
