Final Thought

अन्तकाले च मामेव स्मरन्मुक्त्वा कलेवरम्। यः प्रयाति स मद्भावं याति नास्त्यत्र संशयः॥

What does Bhagavad Gita 8.5 mean?

One who, at the time of death, gives up the body while remembering Me alone attains My very being, of this there is no doubt.

How can I apply Gita 8.5 in daily life?

If we wish to attain the Supreme's ultimate form, we must practice remembering Him in every moment of life. For at the time of death, that very remembrance we have practiced continuously throughout life arises naturally.

Krishna's teaching

Krishna teaches that remembrance of God at the final moment becomes possible naturally only when it has been practiced continuously throughout life. So we should be careful not to fall into worldly attachment and forget our goal, as King Bharata did. God's holy name and remembrance of Him should remain in our mind and speech at every moment.

Affirmation

Even at the final moment, God's own sacred name will be on my lips.
