Gateways to Doom

त्रिविधं नरकस्येदं द्वारं नाशनमात्मनः। कामः क्रोधस्तथा लोभस्तस्मादेतत्त्रयं त्यजेत्॥

What does Bhagavad Gita 16.21 mean?

Desire, anger, and greed, these three are the gateways to the soul's ruin and to hell. Therefore, a person should give up all three.

How can I apply Gita 16.21 in daily life?

When desires spin out of control, the mind grows restless. Greed increases discontent, and anger breaks relationships. This verse shows the path to inner cleansing.

Krishna's teaching

Krishna says that desire, anger, and greed are the three great enemies of a person, for they cloud one's judgment and lead one toward wrong actions. One who strives to conquer these can set their life on the right path and move forward on the way to their own well-being.

Affirmation

I recognize the improper desires, anger, and greed that arise within me, and I strive to keep them in check. Keeping my thoughts and actions pure, I move forward on the path of righteousness, self-restraint, and my own well-being.
